False Labor:

So Wednesday throughout my work day I felt "weird," my body was REALLY achy and my back was cramping really bad. I had a feeling something was about to happen. I left work a little early because I felt that uncomfortable. So around 10-11 pm. I started having some painful contractions, more than your regular Braxton Hicks... Around midnight I started to time them, they were about 15 minutes apart. So we tried to get some sleep around 2:30 a.m. I woke up to use the restroom and couldn't go back to sleep from the contractions they were getting strong and more intense as the time went on as well. By this point they were a little more than 5 minutes apart. So I woke up the husbe and my mom, took a nice warm shower and headed to L&D, at this point they were about 4-5 minutes apart lasting 90 seconds on average. As soon as we got there they check me, I was 5 CM dilated, so right away they say they are keeping me give me a room and it's go time. They get me all hooked up to an IV, Penicillin (Group B strep) and we wait. I have decided to try and do this naturally with no medicine so I was able to move around and walk around with my IV. They did tell me that she was still really high and my cervix was thick but that the contractions should help with that. Except they didn't. And I never made a change. My contractions stopped about 5 hours later and the Dr. decided she does not want to force miss Diva out if she is not ready and I would be able to go home. So home we went. I won't deny that I was very sad and felt that I had done something wrong. I know she is not ready and I want her to be ready but why would she do that? Eek. Well it took me a day or two to get over it. I had a follow up with my Dr. on Friday she couldn't believe that they sent me home and she couldn't believe this baby is playing games. I was still at a 5 when I saw the Dr. After 3-4 days of recover... boy does labor take it out of you and I didn't have a baby yet! My whole body was sore and I was so tired. But I didn't have any contractions anymore...until Monday night. They started really irregular and around 3:30 am and kept on, so we went in again just to make sure but I knew they wouldn't keep me, they weren't getting stronger just staying the same. Sure enough, still a 5, about 80% and she is still REALLY high up. Seriously, I'm not even sure how they check me she is so high... So It's been a long day and a good reason for this really late post, but here is to 14 more days until my due date!

30 weeks!/ 3D sono

So much has gone on since my last post and it hasn't been a week. I know I am behind with my weekly bump update but with good reason. I had a doctor's appt Friday so I wanted to see where I was with everything and we had a 3D/4D sono appt that afternoon so I wanted to update with that too!

Yay for 30 weeks!!!

How far along? 30 weeks!
Total weight gain: 19 total, my original calculations were off but I am still in good standing according to the Dr.

This is my baby girl! We got SOOOO many pictures and a DVD and CD with more pictures, I am so in Love. I really can't wait to meet her!!!! This place was amazing and I would rec commend it to any one wanting to do a 3D/4D but not pay too much. Baby girl was covering her face most of the time, as you can see, and at one point she even put her feet on her face. But she did give us a few good full face pictures. I think she is going to favor Daddy. Also the tech said she has a BUNCH of hair... oh boy, guess those bows will come in handy!!

So in love with my baby girl, my parents and my younger brother got to experience this with us. They were so excited! She has big cheeks!! It will be interesting to see how she actually compares to these pictures!

Until next time!

Tutu cute!

As I mentioned in my intro, I have a creative bone in me. I like making bows, tutu''s, dresses, whatever I can get my hands on. Usually for a baby shower with a baby girl on the way I try to make something like that. So I figured I would share this Tutu I made for a friend of ours having a baby girl! I can give a brief tutorial nothing extravagant.

I use ribbon for the waist when it comes to a newborn, its adjustable so that way if you have a smaller baby you can tie it tighter or vice versa, for toddlers that I can actually measure I use elastic.

Newborn: 15-16 Inches with about 8-9 inches on each side so you have enough ribbon to make a bow with the loose ends.

As far as the length I go with about 5-6 inches long, so I cut 10-11 inch long tulle stands since they go folded.

Not very good pictures of the process this was my tulle already cut, I used Hot Pink and Silver and I plan to make a matching bow.

I cut about 40 pink tulle stands and about 14-16 silver ones

In the process.. I went 5 Pink to every 2 Silver, the silver stands out more so I didn't use as much.
I tie the tulle in a knot and that works out fine, it's about preference.
I tie my ribbon around an Oats cannister to make the tieing process faster and easier.

The finished product, you can barely see the bow but I would also heat seal the ribbon at the edges. I had to do a little trimming on the Pink because the silver was shorter... I get impatient when I'm cutting.

The bow I will make will have Silver and White ribbon and a Hot Pink Button!

Easy gift for a little Princess on her way!

Baby G will defiantly be sporting many tutu's made by mama... I just love them!

29 Weeks!

So 29 weeks isn't too bad, except the fact that I have a severe case of Heartburn. The Dr. had told me a few things I could do and take, hopefully with better eating habits it will only be that ONE incident!
Hunnie and I have been playing with baby G by talking to her at night and flashing our phone's light on her... she kicks it, its hilarious!!
I can't wait to meet her!
I love that maternity shirt! First one I purchased and its the first time I wear it!

How far along? 29 weeks!
Total weight gain: 13 pounds so far
Maternity clothes?  Yes, and it is getting harder to dress for the summer without going out and buying more shorts/clothes because i wont b wearing them long
Stretch marks?            Yes :/
Sleep:   I sleep alot... lots of restroom interuptions but I try to sleep alot.
Best moment this week:       My hunnie was playing with baby G by placing a flashlight on my belly and she would kick it! I love seeing him interact with my belly and talking to her.
Miss Anything?              Variety of my clothes, being able to get up out of my bed without having to be helped, less restroom breaks, a nice drink now and then...
Movement:             Oh yes its fun to see my belly move wit her too!
Food cravings:   California style burrito- beans/rice/fajita/homeade flour toritilla
Symptoms:        OH man the heartburn!! Acid reflux is HORRIBLE, I am at fault, I ate ALOT of spicy in one day, I was foolish to think it wouldn't affect me but man o man it was horrible.
Anything making you queasy or sick:     Just heartburn...
Labor Signs:    Braxton Hicks contractions
Happy or Moody most of the time:   More Happy than moody! Although during that heartburn session I'm sure anyone that was near me would have disagreed.
Looking forward to:   Our 3D/4D sono, I really hope we get some great pictures! Also our maternity pictures are coming soon!!

Father's Day!

Sunday was Father's day, our family didn't do much  because my dad was not feeling to well
but we did cook out. I bought him a pair of pants and got him a card, he loved it. For my hunnie I wasn't sure what to do, we didn't do anything for me on Mother's day because I felt weird celebrating and my baby isn't here with us yet. So I did something creative and made him a Daddy To Be Survival kit. I used all his favorite candies/snacks and other little things I knew he would like.

So the breakdown

Snickers: to remind you its ok to laugh
Cry babies: in case one crying baby is not enough
Hot Fries: for those late night snacks (Also his favorite chips)
Hugs/Kisses: To remind you that mommy and baby girl need lots of hugs and kisses
Kit Kat: When you need a break
Mounds: For the Mounds of help you will be
Tootsie Rolls: So that you can Roll with the punches
Lifesavers: Because you are a lifesaver and without you I couldn't do this
Popcorn: For those nights when we need a movie night
Mountain Dew: For that extra boost in the morning after a long night of staying away with a newborn (He doesn't drink coffee)
Tissues: To wipe away the tears... yours, hers and mine
Eraser: To remind you that every new parent makes mistakes
Masks: In case the smell gets too bad (he's horrible with strong smells)
Wet Wipes: For those on the go messes
and a card from baby G!

He loved it all and was eager to eat all the candy! He has a sweet tooth but I'm glad he loved it.
