As I mentioned in my intro, I have a creative bone in me. I like making bows, tutu''s, dresses, whatever I can get my hands on. Usually for a baby shower with a baby girl on the way I try to make something like that. So I figured I would share this Tutu I made for a friend of ours having a baby girl! I can give a brief tutorial nothing extravagant.
Newborn: 15-16 Inches with about 8-9 inches on each side so you have enough ribbon to make a bow with the loose ends.
As far as the length I go with about 5-6 inches long, so I cut 10-11 inch long tulle stands since they go folded.
Not very good pictures of the process this was my tulle already cut, I used Hot Pink and Silver and I plan to make a matching bow.
I cut about 40 pink tulle stands and about 14-16 silver ones
In the process.. I went 5 Pink to every 2 Silver, the silver stands out more so I didn't use as much.
I tie the tulle in a knot and that works out fine, it's about preference.
I tie my ribbon around an Oats cannister to make the tieing process faster and easier.
The finished product, you can barely see the bow but I would also heat seal the ribbon at the edges. I had to do a little trimming on the Pink because the silver was shorter... I get impatient when I'm cutting.
The bow I will make will have Silver and White ribbon and a Hot Pink Button!
Easy gift for a little Princess on her way!
Baby G will defiantly be sporting many tutu's made by mama... I just love them!
